Invasion Of The Killer Curves - A Nicky Rockets Review

*This t-shirt was a gifted item

The past few years has seen some really interesting twists and turns for the plus size community. We have seen a huge surge of people championing body confidence and trying to push the envelope with how we treat ourselves and how we wish to be treated by society. Those of you who are familiar with my blog will know that I am a huge advocate for body confidence. I like to see women of all shapes and sizes making the most of what they have and doing so with style and finesse. Now I must state (as people love to make presumptions) I'm not here to promote obesity by any means, I personally would like to lose some weight but I figure whilst I am the shape and size that I am, I may as well enjoy myself and embrace what's out there with my beauty and style options.

Recently we have seen a whole host of new brands sweep onto the market and for the first time plus size women are being spoilt for choice when it comes to fashion. I have never had so many fabrics, colours and prints in my wardrobe before and I have to say I am loving it! I will say this though, there are still some elements to my old style that I simply can't drop and that is my love of t-shirts. I used to wear my t-shirts in a pretty safe and understated way and it was my mission last year to try and incorporate them into some of my most stylish outfits. One woman who knows a lot about how to play with t-shirt styles is Betty Pamper. Winner of last year's Best Blogger award at the British Plus Size Awards, MUA and business woman there's not a lot Betty isn't involved in. She and husband Nicky created an amazing line of plus size t-shirts that not only have a fun alternative edge, these tees are also a really fun and fresh way for plus women to embrace their curves and show the world that they look hot doing it! Check out the entire collection here. At the recent cupcake party and photoshoot Betty I took part in last weekend for Scarlett & Jo; we spent a lot of time talking about the plus industry and how fashion for plus women has changed over the years. Betty then said that she would send me one of the t-shirts from the collection, and even in the middle of a busy shoot I was thinking about how I might style it.

With all the recent changes and developments in the plus arena it's pretty befitting that one of the leading designs from Nicky Rockets is the very t-shirt I had to get my hands on. Who could resist a design with a hot and curvy chick which reads 'Invasion Of The Killer Curves'! The simple black and white design was one I could definitely incorporate into a monochrome look! Slashed t-shirts have always been my thing, I used to buy t-shirts and cut them across the shoulders, so to be able to get a t-shirt that is already slashed in the right place is definitely a bonus and brings with it that cool 1980s flair that I really love! The t-shirt is also available in ladies fit, round neck and in a vest format and comes in sizes S - 4XL so there's something to suit everyone. The fit of these tees is true to size and the fabric is a really strong yet soft material.

I decided to pair mine with my Contrast PU Leggings from Misguided, size 24. When styling t-shirts I like to add a little something extra to take it from being a simple casual item to a more stylish one. The pleather fronts of these leggings for me provide a little bit of rock edge and also comes in handy this time of year as they're really warm to wear. I of course had include a houndstooth print where possible so my new Black Dogtooth Trim Shoe Boots from Evans were a must! To finish up I knew I had to add red lippy and so my ruby red glitter lips had to be worn (review to come soon). For accessories I wanted to wear something a little different so my so my steel and black diamonte chaps chocker and bracelet and black hair scarf completed my look.

I have to say it's really nice to see people really appreciating and enjoying their curves and for the first time in a long time full figured bodies are really being celebrated so I'm sure that loads of you out there will want to get your hands on your own Rockets tee!

Remember whatever you wear, feel fabulous in it and wear it with a smile!
